A Beautiful Gathering of Stories, Flavours, and Generations.
On Sunday, July 27, 2025, the Heritage Keepers Initiative came alive again at the Jim Durrell Recreation Centre, with even more stories, stronger bonds, and unforgettable moments.
From the warm smiles of grandparents to the curious eyes of youth, Session 2 was a powerful continuation of our mission to preserve culture and connect generations. We were especially thrilled to welcome the incredible Holistic Apron team, who came ready to nourish our bodies and spirits. Their live demonstrations of holistic cooking techniques and culturally rooted recipes brought new energy into the room, while participants learned, asked questions, and savoured the delicious meals prepared with love.
The room was filled with laughter over nostalgic board games, heartfelt storytelling, and the wisdom only elders can offer. As always, the presence of grandparents was the heart of the event, reminding us that heritage is best passed down not just in words but in shared experiences.
Afroculture Media is proud to continue creating safe, vibrant spaces where identity is celebrated, wisdom is honoured, and community thrives.
Here’s to more sessions, stories, and shared meals that keep our heritage alive.
